Brian and I talked about it, and we are keeping the blog open to any and all readers and commenters. Post away, have fun. We are also working on establishing a message board to compliment this blog and should have it up soon.
Stay tuned.

somebody already started a message board we can use.
I'm so glad you guys talked it out. Was there hugging involved?
And the score:
Free speech 1
Egomaniacal editors 0
Hey there, right wing nut job. If "liberals" are the least tolerant of free speech, than why was the blog opened back up after discussion among the editors?
I feel compelled to address a few issues.
This blog should be a place for people to voice their opinion, no matter what it is. The campus is limited enough as far as places where opinions can be freely expressed in a format that allows people to do so without killing eachother.
The decision to shut down was a bad one. However, the primary reason for it being shut down was prompted by "spitwads" and political "sniping." I urge people to think about his fact. It says a lot about the current climate regarding these issues. I personally believe that people should be able to say what they want, with one caveat: The posts should can be as "spitwaddish" as you want, as long as they are trying to make a point. Personal attack has it's place indeed, especially when editors like Matt and I agreed to take a position that opened us up to public scrutiny. However, I hope people recognize the ability Matt and I had to discuss the issue and correct what was a bad decision. I believe the ability to discuss issues constructively and come to a conclusion that corrects a wrong says a lot. Not about Matt and I personally, but rather the power that lies within honest intelligent discussion, whether it be heated or not.
So blog on. Say what you want, but keep basic humanity in mind. Don't be afraid to say what it is you feel you need to, in any way, as long as you pay attention to the gravity of the subject you are talking about and treat it accordingly, based on your beliefs.

I wish you could edit these things once their posted. When I said "I urge people to think about HIS fact," I meant to say "I urge people to think about THIS fact." I promise it wasn't a Freudian slip!
