Fire Alarms and New Leaders

Is anyone familiar with the evacuation plan for the campus? Do you think you need to be?

McCoy and Gibson say that they will try to bring sports to this campus. Is it possible? How? What sports would you like to see here?

Well, there already has been sports for students. There was a softball team and a volleyball team that was comprised of WSUV students that competed in city leagues last year. There might have even been a bowling team in a league somewhere. So there have been some sports here (if you read the signage and have the appropriate free time in your schedule).

I would like to see such sports as: 1) keep my tuition as low as possible because I'm paying for school myself, and 2) some kind of intermural competition held between different departments or colleges on campus (would work if it were organized properly).

I heard the earthquake test this morning at 10am, it was kinda cool.

Keeping my tuition as low as possible and refraining from overdriving this campus with "Coug Spirit" is by far my favorite sport.

Does it seem right if a certain Latina professor offers extra credit for students who participate in immigration protests in Portland?

If participating in the protests is somehow related to the class, why not? Extra credit doesn't just have to come in the form of writing extra papers.

While at Clark, I had an art professor who gave extra credit for attending First Thursday. How is that different?

Didn't some professors offer extra credit for going to Ashcroft? No difference.

Speaking of Ashcroft...

I'm not sure how many of you fellow Vancougar blog readers attended the Ashcroft event on the 12th. Overall, it was a pretty good event, whether or not you like the guy. I took a whole bunch of photos that day and wanted to share them, so here ya go:

Take care, guys.

Is it any big surprise that the local media (including our own VanRag) gave just about as much coverage to the protesters at the Ashcroft event as they did Ashcroft himself? Hey look! Here's a big-name conservative! Let's care less about what he has to say, and more about what cynics have to say about him! When Dynamite Dean came last year, you didn't see some big conservative protest, and even if there had any protesters, I doubt they would have made the cover of the VanCougar.
