We did a piece on KOUG radio being in trouble, and I'm curious as to how many new we had a radio station here on campus before the article. In addition, what are people's ideas on WSUV becoming a four-year institution? Lastly, what do you think about the protests in Crawford?

I don't think many people knew we had a radio station, much less listened to it. As for the morons in Crawford, I think they're both wasting their time and disrespecting the thousands of Americans who serve in our military. If Cindy wants to protest, its her right to do so. However, I think she's about as audacious as Ryan Lamar's cartoon faux paux last year. Its wrong to put words in the mouth of the dead. Its worse when the dead went willing to their graves in defence of their values. So, if she wants to, let her bring all the shame she wants on her family. After all, speech is free in this country. I guess that's what makes talk so cheap.
I'd like to comment on the 5 cent tour of WSUV. According to Public Safety, the 'stairs to nowhere' lead to utilities access for Plant Services (i.e. water, electricity, etc.). If you go up there, you can actually hear a low hum from the power or water. (I'd like my empty box or other 'cool' item now...) What they also failed to mention about parking on 29th street was the fact that there are more prowls and breakins, not to mention there is poor visibility (accidents have happened there a lot) and only room for 15-20 cars. Its hardly worth the walk when you can have all the services the campus provides (escorts, jumpstarts, vehicle unlocks, etc). But if you're too stingey to pay the parking fees, then walk 5 miles in the dark to your car and hope your CD's are still inside when you get there.
Those young chicks on campus would be a great reason to come to school. I could just like give em a shiny quarter, and they'll do whatever I want. Oh, and btw I have seen all those girls gone wild videos, trust me, nobody wants to see some 30 yo flabby, strechmarked and dimply ass prancing around on the screen.
Mr. Fassett?
Kristin,
I can see your point...both about turning 4 year and with Chester there as well. C'mon Chester, isn't there something more original than acting lioke an idiot on a blog?
While I think that having an influx of younger students is definitely going to bring some of the dynamics that you speak of, I also think it can help in other ways.
We have a tendency at this school to become TOO goal orientated. The college experience, at any age, becomes more well-rounded and memorable with a little involvement. In addition, I hate to see people shy away from the younger set because they don't want to be bothered; they should realize that they are role-models. I think that this campus is unique in that perspective. This will be an interesting mix of young and older :), which can create success in an otherwise mundane world.
Great article! Thanks.
