I saw Matt holding a Nethercutt sign at the rally on campus, cheering on his Republican favorites.

Now that you have this blog, so people won't "clutter" your door, does that mean you are going to have a cleaning session? Go on and take down that obnoxious crap. Or at least rotate in some new opinions. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy political humor but if you are going to suggest people subscribe to a forum, maybe you should use it too. Or is the door of the Vancougar ordained for the high propaganda of the oh so liberally biased editorial staff.
In the first debate one of the final questions posed to W. was
"Are there also underlying character issues that you believe, that you believe are serious enough to deny Senator Kerry the job as commander in chief of the United States?"
Bush went on to comment...
Then Kerry responds "I'm not going to talk about a difference of character. I don't think that's my job or my business."
Yet Kerry does think it is his business to directly comment about Cheney's daughter ("I think if you were to talk to Dick Cheney's daughter, who is a lesbian"). I think this comment was uncouth and inappropriate.
If you want to comment about civil liberties, fine. I have no lapse in understanding the complex issues and presentation of Kerry but at some point you have to stop thinking out loud and commit to an easily defined point of view! But wait... he is about, to begin, to start, to realize, the upcoming importance, of the growing momentum, developing in a well thought out argument and presentation that finally leads to what he thinks. Get to the point already... Blame it on the deficit in American minds, that can't hold a complex thought, to be the voters that Kerry loses to.
I am in agreement with the first section of this post about all of the cartoons posted on the Vancougar window. It's cool and everything if biased opinions are expressed in the opinion portions of the paper, but when the staff straight out blasts a certain point of view in every single print multiple times over it makes me less inclined to read the paper - who's to know if you're even reporting the whole story? If you're going to report news it's important to address both sides, and what's been printed so far this year has led me to assume any article in the Vancougar might not be the whole story. And no, I'm not a huge Bush fan who's just upset about a lack of conservatism in the Vancougar staff - though I feel bad for any conservatives on this campus, as their views are completely ignored.
If anything else, the way the Vancougar staff expresses their opinions leads me to read the Vancougar out of pure amusement and not something to be taken seriously. This, unfortunately, was not at all the case last year. And having been a student at other campuses, I can truthfully say that the Vancougar is one of a kind in this aspect - which is not a good thing.
